Tuesday, May 19 - 268 Commons (HUB), 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Anthologized in numerous poetry collections, Lebanese-American poet, hilal, will perform and disucss her poetry, which weaves the themes of family, culture, identity, love and war. As part of her presentation, she will talk about her experiences as an immigrant, an Arab Muslim, a woman, An American, a new mother, and the wife of a man who collects Pez dispensers.

Dr. Linda Penas, Lecturer in Statistics, will discuss her journey from a small town in middle
America to UCR, via academia and industry. She will offer insights on the roles women play
